JEHOVAH: What's In a Name?
by Cold Steel inthe jehovah's witnesses used to place a great deal of stock in the fact that they used god's name frequently whereas most christians were content to substitute the term "lord.
" their bibles are rife with the term "jehovah" and many combine the name with the title "god" to the point it sounds bizarre to others.
thus it is "jehovah-god" did thus and so and "jehovah-god" commanded moses to do this and that.

What Happens After You Leave?
by Cold Steel ini'm not a witness, but i have to ask..... what happens after you leave?
do you turn against all religion or do you find another?
people say they're happy when they leave...that they feel free, but i'd hate to think that people give up on everything religious.. if you do stay religious, how many doctrines of the jws do you retain?

Why Do Jehovah's Witnesses Use the Term "Manmade Religions"?
by Cold Steel inover the years, and just a few weeks ago as a matter of fact, i've anwered the door to find jehovah's witnesses standing there.
in my discussions with them, they've usually mentioned "manmade religions" and armegeddon.
having looked into their religion somewhat, and more so lately, i have to say that the entire movement seems to be manmade and, if not, i certainly don't know where, or how, god could have had a hand in it.. what is there in the way their church was formed that would make it formed, created or established by god?

Animals, the Resurrection and the Future
by Cold Steel insince jehovah's witnesses reject the notion the idea that human beings are spirits, what is the general thought in the community regarding animals?
are they considered intelligent?
if so, are they covered under christ's eternal atonement?.

Where Do JWs Get Their Sense of Legitimacy?
by Cold Steel inin reading jw literature over the years and talking to missionaries, i've often read and heard the term "manmade religion" applied to other christian churches.
yet when i study the history, the church seems to have been built on a publishing company.
no revelations or visions, no voices from heaven, no light or glory, no visitationsyet the jehovah's witnesses proclaim that they're the only "true" religion.

A Religion of Assumptions
by Cold Steel inthe jehovah's witnesses are a strange cultural phenomenon and one that has always puzzled me.
members call it "the truth" and, more boldly, "jehovah's organization.
" but many of those on the outside remain dumbfounded.
